Mike did well last night. His head pain stayed at 5/10 til just recently where they administered more Oxycodone. A new head CT was just taken so we will get those results later this morning.
He asked for food around midnight and ate a bit. Blood pressure remains under control.
Before I left last night, he was complaining of leg pain and rubbing his left leg. When I clarified that he was feeling pain in that leg, I told him “That’s good pain, hon, because that’s your left leg that you haven’t had feeling in!” Another great sign!
He continues to want to get up to use the restroom (said he will be fine and drag himself there if he has to) and wants to feed himself which is a lot of work right now but his determination is so strong. He will get there, I’m sure!
For now, he’s accepting help which I know is hard for him but I told him yesterday it’s so important that he’s letting us help him til he gets his strength back and not to get used to this treatment long term from me 😜🥰
Unfortunately, he was very agitated this morning trying to check work messages. Luckily, his stepson, Kenny, was there and intervened. He will call everyone back and coordinate with Jeremy to finish the truck that Mike was working on.
Mike still has his humor, cracking jokes at interesting times. We turned the TV on and he started channel surfing, then said, “This place is boring.” LOL
He will be discharged to Sunnyview. No date yet for that. They recommended acute PT/OT which is the most intensive and will get him home quicker!
So these glimmers of hope are there. When he gets to Sunnyview, he will be all business, I have no doubt!
A mostly quiet day. No signs of swelling worsening. Pain stayed somewhat controlled at 5/10. Mike is showing more of an appetite and asking for pizza.
Doctors announced we are officially out of the woods, folks! Onward ever forward.
Prayers are working. Mike and I feel your love and prayers and are so grateful 🙏🙏
