Mike is still suffering quite significantly from head pain. The blood putting pressure on the brain along with the tissue damage is the reason. The doctor said they can’t give him any real pain medication for another three to possibly five days. It’s awful.

He’s only sleeping about four hours at night now. He’s much more responsive to the head pain than when he was initially brought in. The neurologist did say it’s a good sign he’s not sleeping as much because that would be a sign of deeper tissue damage.

I’ve had some issues with the neurologist. She’s a cold fish basically and she comes around with her minions and has absolutely no bedside manner.

Today, she took us by surprise. She told us his prognosis looks good for a full recovery. She also said she will prescribe a muscle relaxer for him and there will be less neuro checks so he can rest better.

Hearing her say such positive words left me suddenly in tears. I just did not expect her to say anything like that. She was very matter-of-fact about it, but that’s okay. I’m so grateful for that unexpected positive feedback.

After they administered the muscle relaxer, Mike slept so peacefully and soundly for a few hours. And so did I.
